Building the Ultimate Bucket List

October 17th, 2012 at 2:33 pm by under Face of Fox

As I start this journey as the Face of Fox, I am challenged with the task of being proactive in what kind of stories I want to cover. Being that this is my first week in the office, I have a lot of time to do research on whats going on around Albuquerque and the greater New Mexico area. As we all know, there is sooo much to do in this beautiful state, so much so that people tend to look over a lot.  Im challenged to find all those things that people are looking over, and bring it back in the forefront. Im the outdoors-y type, so I decided to narrow my scope to things outside that people should see for the first time or revisit, just to reinvigorate their love for this sacred place.

So for me, Im making a bucket list! A list of all the things I HAVE to see in New Mexico. Im also generating a list of affordable Day trips that people in Albuquerque can reference if they ever want to get away. But not too far away.

As you can see,  I am busy at work. Thanks to the great folks at New Mexico True, who I met last week at the Balloon Fiesta, I have a plethora of brochures to reference. As a side statement, I have never looked at so many maps in my life. But all this research is getting me super eager and excited to build the ultimate New Mexico bucket list. I want your help too! Please drop a line on any special spots around the state that you love or you think gets overlooked. In the meanwhile, stay tuned and see what list I come up with and see what you can add…

Good luck & happy trails. Make sure you get up to Ojo Caliente. I’ve had friends say they like 10000 Waves better because they feel more pampered, but i love the atmosphere of Ojo Caliente. It so reminds me of the 50′s 60′s Adirondack Mountain family resorts. Rustic, cozy, secluded but the older cabins have the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in! They’re little; just enough room for 2 double beds, bath/shower & a tiny kitchenette. The restaurant is good & has some interesting chef dishes. The hot mineral springs feel delicious! I have some more recommendations but one at a time is OK :-D
