On the agenda at the city council meeting tonight is the debate about adding a roundabout at Rio Grande and Candelaria where there have been a lot of crashes recently. Opponents say roundabouts are expensive to install and limit the number of cars that can go through the intersection. But on the other hand, supporters say a roundabouts are cheaper and don’t need as much upkeep as traffic lights.
Also on tonight’s agenda, firefighters want to spend a million bucks for advanced paramedic equipment including EKG monitors. There are currently on some 20 ambulances right now but the department wants to put it on 22 fire trucks too so it can get to you faster. The fire department already has the money in its saving’s account.
Santa Fe’s Rooftop Pizzaria is being featured on the cooking channel’s show “Chuck’s Eat the Street”. A crew will be filming at the restaurant on east San Francisco Street from 2:30 pm to 6:30pm Tuesday. The restaurant is making an exception to its *no reservations* rule, so call rooftop for a seat during the filming.
