  • Talk about the play beforehand

  • You may laugh and applaud

  • Talk about the play afterward

The Albuquerque school board is looking for your input about some new enrollment requirements designed to cut down on crowded schools. These new requirements would make families provide proof of residency. The district says too many kids are going to schools that aren’t in their area and that’s causing crowding at some schools.

There are groundbreaking ceremonies today for two new fire stations in Bernalillo County. They’ll replace Station 46 on Frost Road in Sandia Park and Station 41 on Highway 337 in the East mountains.

Firefighters in Rio Rancho are now better prepared to help with rescuing people from water. Yesterday the Rio Rancho Fire Department practiced swift water rescues on the Rio Grande using various equipment, including the float-boards. Firefighters say it’s possible for anyone to get caught up in swift running currents  in streams and arroyos at any time of the year and beware the less runoff and lower water levels don’t mean the danger of drowning is out of the question.
