Spring Allergies Acting Up?

With Spring in full bloom, a big issue facing a lot of New Mexicans is Allergies! Theres nothing more annoying than uncontrollable sneezing, headaches, and sinus irritation.

Well to keep your allergies in check, we have a couple tips. If you missed the New Mexico style segment we did on seasonal allergy OTC medications at Walgreens a couple weeks ago heres a recap:

For Antihistamines: Claritin, Wal-itin (Generic) or Benadryl to suppress runny nose or sneezing.

For Decongestants: Sudafed

For Kids: Childrens Benadryl or other children brands

If Over the Counter medications dont help, it may be time to get a prescription from doctor.


Some natural allergy remedies:

European herb butterbur (Petasites hybridus)-known to be helpful for allergic rhinitis.

Goldenseal- Has astringent and has a lot antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties

Saline (salt water) nasal spray- Can wash out pollen and thin mucous.
