Albuquerque’s leaders, including Mayor RJ Berry are getting ready for a groundbreaking ceremony for it’s a renovation project of the “Sun-Downer” Motel. The historic motel on east central once housed visionaries Bill Gates and Paul Allen.
The Travel Channel has released a list of the best botanic gardens in the US… And Albuquerque’s is on the list. The designation is attributed in part to its location on the banks of the Rio Grande and the 36 acres of gardens you can explore.
Bon Appetit Magazine has named the north valley’s Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm as one of the ten best hotels for food lovers. The menu changes daily and always features fresh ingredients fresh off the farm. Bon Appetit editors said Los Poblanos provides a regionally inspired, seasonally driven, and locally-sourced cuisine.
The League of American Bicyclists has named NMSU a *bronze bicycle friendly* university for taking steps to make bicycling a safe and easy option for students and staff. NMSU has beefed up bicycle traffic law enforcement, educated motorists and cyclists about the rules of the road and worked to prevent bicycle thefts. Other improvements include painting bike lanes, adding bike racks, and installing a bicycle fix-it station outside the student union.
