The newly crowned Miss Indian World, Kansas Begaye, joined us and talked about her experience representing the Navajo Dineh Nation at the Gathering of Nations.

Josh Suchon, the Isotopes Play by Play announcer, came on the show to talk about his new book “Miracle Men: Gibson, Hershiser, and The Impossible 1988 Dodgers.” He talked about the process of researching for the book and how it all came together.

The Small Buisiness Friday Highlight this week was Willow Creek-A Country Attic- where one can find unique gifts with Victorian Flare.

Caterer Victor Rede joined us and cooked up some traditional Kentucky Derby fare and libations.

In the Community

This summer, Carlsbad Caverns National Park will raise its entrance fee to $10 for visitors 15 years old and up, and is the first increase in 16 years.

A Los Lunas Senior, Samuel Martin, drew is Google Doodle using Colorado’s Emerald Lake as the background. He has become New Mexico’s winner. He needs your vote to move on. The 5 national winners will be presented with a $30,000 college scholarship, and a $50,000 technology grant for their school.

The Santa Ana Star Casino is opening up their sophisticated, elegant nightclub named “The Stage” tonight at 7pm. Performers will include DJ Shurbeat and “OMG” Las Vegas’ newest and most exciting live music act.

Tomorrow the final event for Albuquerque Beer Week, Blues and Brews, is happening. The Duke City’s finest breweries and tap rooms will pair their best beers with some of the best entertainment in the city. Beer Week is from 1pm-6pm at the Isleta Amphitheater.

A Kentucky Derby Day event fundraiser for Southwest Care Center is happening tomorrow from 12pm-5pm at La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa. Tickets are $100 each and all proceeds support the Women’s Heath Services Patient Care fund.

San Felipe Casino is having The Latin Comedy Jam featuring some of the funniest comedians in America today. The show is next Saturday, May 18th at San Felipe Casino Hollywood, doors open at 6pm and tickets are $25.
