Reynardo brown, Treasurer of the Albuquerque alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity … And Marcy Patton with Big Brothers Big Sisters joined us on the show to talk about the event “Bowties and Bangles.” It is a fundraiser to help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Kristie Bair from Bair Medical Spa showed us some beauty products that are sure to help women maintain beautiful skin for life.

Anne Haines, President and CEO of Accion, a non-profit that helps fund local small businesses, came on the show to talk about the work that Accion does and the importance of fueling small businesses in our economy.

Steve Gurley, President and owner of Gurley Motor Company in Gallup, joined us to talk about the upcoming 7th annual Gurley Motor Route 66 Car, Truck, and Street Rod Show in Gallup. The event is this Saturday and is sure to have car lovers in a frenzy.

Personal Trainer, Carin Van Olst, showed us some stretching exercises that will help prevent injury during workouts, as well as boost performance.

Owner and Director of Greenhouse Bistro, Suzette Lindemuth and Executive Chef, Angleo Dixon joined us in our Builders Source Kitchen to talk about the restaurant and cooked up a nice healthy salad that is easy to make.

Presbyterian Health Plan is holding a career, open house today for clinical and non-clinical professionals. You would join an experienced and committed team. H&R Block is also having a job fair today. It’s looking for more than 35 people for season jobs. Everything from office managers to customer service reps, and tax preparers. If you’re interested… Take that resume to the office on Rio Bravo and Isleta SW from 4 to 7 this afternoon.

Fire up the grill, The Green Chile Cheese Cheeseburger Challenge” is returning to the state fair. 12 local restaurants will be eligible to compete on Wednesday, September 11th. The winner will be featured in the New Mexico tourism Departments’ Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail. The deadline to enter is 5pm  on August 16th.

Usa today readers have chosen New Mexico Green Chile as the most iconic American food. The contest started earlier this month and generated tens of thousands of votes. The magazine cites the fact that no freezer is ever without frozen green chile, or the fact that we top everything from cheeseburgers to eggs with chile. Of course the magazine calls it green chile *sauce* … Which is sacrilege here in New Mexico.

Angel fire is being transformed into a BMX lovers paradise. The resort has been chosen from more than 20 contenders to host the largest BMX bike race event in the world … On August 10. The huge dirt track is almost complete and it is one of the biggest courses in the history of the sport, complete with jumps that will take riders as high as 17 stories.
