PNM crews have been working around the clock since Friday to restore power to those that lost it after the wicked storm hit. More than 30-thousand homes and businesses lost power. So far…90 percent of the power has been restored. The company has had to more than double the number of crews working the field to get the power back on. It has about 100 people working now…including crews from Texas and Arizona. They’ve fixed the major lines. Now they’re going door-to-door to fix the lines…and that takes a lot of time.
The Albuquerque Biopark is back open after a rough weekend. It took a lot of cleaning and fixing…but the zoo opened yesterday. It had to close on Saturday because of the mess the storm left behind. There were branches twiggs and leaves scattered all over the park. It caused a lot of problems for a lot of people but not the elephants. They’ve been playing with the leaves and chowing down. The only thing that hasn’t opened just yet is the train but it should be chugging along soon.

Before the storm hit, and suspended the Isotopes game, Ken levine … The man who coined the name “Isotopes” when he wrote an episode of the Simpsons, threw out a ceremonial first pitch. Levine says when writers came up with the name “Isotopes”. They were going for a name that revolved around an atomic power plant since that’s where homer worked. He said it was “the goofiest sounding name” they could think of not thinking anybody would actually name a team that.
3-time super bowl champ Mark Schlereth was at Costco on the Westside this weekend promoting his new “Stinkin’ Good” green chile sauce. He says his “Stinkin Good” green chile is not only one of the best chiles on the market … it’s also just about the best condiment you have ever tasted. locals might disagree with that claim.
