September 30th, 2013 at 12:54 pm by under 2 KASA Style

New Mexico viewers have spoken… now it’s down to four.

Four finalists for the 2 KASA Face of Fox and CW Star/My50 VJ are left… and this Friday, we’ll find out the winners!

Winners – plural.

That’s right -for the first time, the Face of Fox and Star/VJ will be announced at the same time.  Therefore, we’ll have TWO winners to celebrate this weekend.

The first of the four to join me this week was Jose Maestas II.  A funnyman and Las Vegas NM native, Jose is eager to get to work in New Mexico, entertaining audiences and showing the best our state has to offer.

We also highlight October’s National Domestic Violence Awareness.  Haven House is Sandoval County’s only domestic violence shelter and they’re busy keeping the residents of New Mexico safe from the terrible nightmare of violence.  If you feel you need assistance, they’ll be happy to help you at http://www.havenhouseinc.org/.

Seeking help in speaking to your spouse or significant other?  I spoke to the experts on the age-old challenges of male/female communication.  Orna and Matthew Walters, authors and relationship experts, are currently on a tour promoting their communication strategies for healthy, happy partnerships.  You can read more online at http://www.creatingloveonpurpose.com/.

If you’re an entrepreneurial-type and looking for help in launching your business, Bernalillo County can help.  Partnered with private organizations, they’re now offering a number of options in a revolving loan fund.  The program has already helped dozens of individuals realize their professional dreams.  Don’t wait for opportunity to knock – go calling on it yourself!

And Cheryl Alters Jamison, culinary editor of New Mexico Magazine shows us how to prepare delicious dishes with locally-grown foods.  She also talks about agricultural adventures right in your own back yard.  http://www.nmmagazine.com/.

Tomorrow, we’ll be welcoming the second of four finalists for the FoF/Star VJ competition, so be sure to tune in @ 9 am on 2 KASA Fox.

Thanks for watching y’all and have a great Monday!

Chad

Community Calendar

It may only be the end of September, but now is a good time to think about Christmas if you plan to register for Toys for Tots.

From 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., you can register at Los Griegos Health and Social Service Center. That’s at Candelaria and 12th Street northwest.

You must bring a valid ID, birth certificate for each child ages 6-months-old to 10-years-old and proof of address. This is the very first opportunity you have to register.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a new toy at Christmas to help less fortunate children and their families.
