As Elizabeth Alvarez likes to say (along with millions of others)… TGIF!

Great week on the 2 KASA Style set.  We wrapped up Halloween week with a tour of haunted New Mexico -your top destinations in the land of enchantment for all things spooky!  Did your favorite place make the list?

We also got a sneak peek of all the hot gadgets for your holiday gift-giving.  I’m a huge fan of the light meter for your iPhone.  Also a fan of the Grilled Cheesus.  Take your pick of the coolest stuff for your family and friends from our awesome collection.

If your’re looking to give the gift of well-being, you can also consider the book Gifts of Gratitude by author Elizabeth Gaylynn Baker.  In addition to being a writer, she is also a filmmaker and has a new documentary coming out about the small village of Kivalina, Alaska, which is slowly disappearing from the map due to climate change.  Fascinating information from this inspirational artist.

We also talked about the very important topic of bullying.  Unfortunately, this is a prevalent topic these days and is often misconstrued.  Bernalillo County Special Programs Manager Ana-Lisa Montoya-Torres sat down with us to discuss the varied signs of bullying, as well as what parents, teachers and other adults can do to prevent this unfortunate epidemic.

And we’re remembering Vivian Vance through her contributions to the Albuquerque Theatre world.  Did you know she was a founding member of the Albuquerque Little Theatre and got her start on the stage right here in New Mexico?  You can share in the memories next week at a very special event in her honor, featuring her baby sister Lou Ann Graham.

Don’t forget -Doggie Dash & Dawdle is this weekend, as well as the Southwest Bacon Fest -all happening at Balloon Fiesta Park and the Balloon Museum.  I’ll be munching it up with my family there.  Come by and say hi!
