Welcome back to reality, folks!December 2nd, 2013 at 12:03 pm by chadbrummett under 2 KASA Style
Man, Mondays after a holiday weekend are hard. Especially, if you’ve had Thanksgiving dinner nearly FOUR times. Grateful for a great weekend, and equally grateful to come back to work at 2 KASA!
We’re grateful for the work that the USMC folks are doing for Toys for Tots. The drive continues, but the deadline to register your family is tomorrow. Visit toysfortots.org to learn more and get registered if you’re in need of assistance. However, if you’re looking to donate a toy, there are many ways to still do so. We’re learning a few of the ways from Corporal Jack (aka Travelin’ Jack). He stopped by in his dress blues along with Sergeant Adrian Hernandez and Jill Lane to share what he’s doing to help the less-fortunate. You can learn more at his own website, travelinjack.com.
We’re also learning more about the good things happening at the UNMH Sandoval County Regional Medical Center. They were recently named a winner of the 2013 Guardian of Excellence award, recognizing their above-and-beyond service to patience and their families. President and CEO Kevin Rogols brought along patient Dollinda Jorgenson stopped by the studio to share their success story and why SRMC is top notch when it comes to medical service in Sandoval County.
And speaking of of health, why not train, get yourself in shape, get a free weekend in Vegas, and serve a worthy cause. The American Lung Association is on the lookout for their 2014 team to participate in Scale the Strat, a vertical marathon which takes place at Vegas’ Stratosphere. Participants pledge money to assist in research and treatment of various lung diseases and illnesses. In return, they have a great time in Vegas and work out like never before!
Christmas came early this morning. One of my favorites in Hollywood, actor, director and writer Ed Burns called in to tell us about Mob City, a mini series premiering on TNT this Wednesday. Burns plays famed gangster Bugsy Siegel, co-starring with Jon Bernthal. Find out more at tnt.com.
And lastly, we’re getting style tips for our kiddos from Fantastic Sam’s. Find out what looks are rocking this season, how best to combat the winter weather for our ‘dos and ways to get last-minute looks. With three locations in Albuquerque to serve, stop by and get a new look for your kiddo… or for yourself!
PS -check out our pic of the day… from viewer R. Molina, this is “Suspended Snow”.
Tomorrow on Style, we’re talking holiday decor for the family room and we’ll be showing you where to get a great holiday outfit for under $20. See you tomorrow!
