New Year’s Eve Eve!

Gearing up for an exciting New Year’s celebration tomorrow night?  There’s a lot of options when it comes to celebrating the New Year tomorrow night… or afternoon for that matter.

The Downs Racetrack and Casino will be hosting a “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration from 11a-1p tomorrow.  Featuring the music of New Mexico artist Gonzalo, who you might remember as a musician with Al Hurricane back in the day.  In addition, great food, cocktails in the First Turn Lounge and fine dining in the Crown Room make the Downs a one-stop destination for ringing in the New Year -no matter what time of day you’re celebrating.

If you’re hosting at home, take some excellent tips from Albert Torres, who shows us how to make stunning centerpieces, accent pieces and more for under $30.  Here’s a tip- Gatsby’s in this year when it comes to celebrating the New Year.  Go glamorous, go glitzy… just don’t spend a fortune doing it!

Speaking of Gatsby, we’re sneak peeking A Gatsby Affair at the Santa Ana Star Center happening tomorrow night.  The event, which promises to be the biggest party of the year, will be kicking off at 9pm at The Stage.  Be sure to pick up a swanky outfit from the folks at Runway Apparel, ladies!

And once you’ve rang in the New Year at the Stage, be sure to get yourself home safe.  Plan ahead for your transportation post-New Year’s Eve partying.  That’s what NMDOT and MADD advocate, as do we at 2 KASA.  They’ve launched a new app that hosts a slew of safety tools for responsible driving.  Links to cab companies, designated drivers, drunk busters -even games to test your response time.  It’s a serious situation, folks.  We need to work as a community to end DWI.  Let’s get it going now.

Lastly, if you’re like me, you may be ringing in the New Year simply staying home with the family tucked in safe and sound.  Why not make some yummy zucchini bread?  Furthermore, why not make it gluten-free?  Chef Jan Laird is back in the Builders Source Kitchen with a great recipe and what we need to know when buying gluten-free flour and keeping it fresh.  You can find her recipe here.

Join us tomorrow as we prepare to ring in 2014, folks.  We’re going to be having lots of fun starting bright and early at 7am on 2 KASA This Morning.  Until then, make it a great day folks!
