Ever wanted to see motorcycles fly as high as 70 feet in the air, this may be your chance this weekend at the Kicker Arenacross Series coming to Rio Rancho. Our David Romero fills us in on who’s involved, what to expect and where the winners go from here.

The Winter Bird and Bat Festival takes place every January at the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park. Center Superintendent Beth Dillingham tells us what to expect this weekend, and Marilyn Morain from Wildlife Rescue also joins us with a peregrine falcon.

Cats, kittens, puppies and pit bull terriers are at the highest risk of being euthanized because of overpopulation, according to Albuquerque Animal Welfare. Department Director Barbara Bruin is here to talk about how to help this major problem.

The Albuquerque Museum is hosting about 100 paintings, sculptures and photographs by 43 African-American artists from the premier collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Museum educator Jessica Coles tells us more than half of the objects in the African-American Art in the 20th Century exhibit are being shown for the first time.

Gospel music has long been an influence on the African american community and its artists, which is why gospel is tying in to the new exhibit at the Albuquerque museum. Rosalind Jones, organizer of the Evening of Gospel Music, joins us along with some of the performers in the Jan. 16 event.

What’s your crafty side like? If you’ve always wanted to get into say knitting or crocheting, we have a great store here in town called The Yarn Store at Nob Hill. Here with me is the owner, Teresa McDowell.

Miss New Mexico Alexis Duprey is here to talk about her experiences and what it’s been like to wear the crown since September.

Tonight you have the opportunity to go to a book signing at Alamosa Books with Laurie Halse Anderson, author of “The Impossible Knife of Memory.”  Alamosa Books co-owner Sean Anker tells us about the book and the author.

On Monday on 2 KASA This Morning the Mommy McGyvers will be here to talk about “The Dirty Dozen’ and the “Clean 15,” the cleanest and dirtiest foods out there. And speaking of food, “squeezed juice bar” will be here. They are taking over our kitchen for the start of “fresh squeezed juice” week. This and much more starting Monday morning at 7 here on 2 KASA This Morning.
