New Mexico certainly stands out when it comes to natural beauty and it’s also very culturally diverse. But what many of us don’t know is this state was one of 33 that enforced segregation among races many decades ago. It may not be known whether Martin Luther King Junior stepped foot in New Mexico, but his role in civil rights certainly made an impact here. Here to talk about that is Kimberly Greene, the executive director of the Martin Luther King Junior Commission for New Mexico.

Community Calendar

The Albuquerque BioPark Botanic Garden is looking to warm you up with its annual winter fire colors flower show. The display features flowers in hot colors from Mediterranean climates. The exhibit started over the weekend and runs until early March.

You can check it out from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Price is included in botanic garden and aquarium admission.
