Happy Monday everybody! Hope everyone had a great weekend, as there was sooo much to do around town. So much so that I couldn’t even make it out to everything I was planning to. I didn’t get much sleep, but it wasn’t missed as I got to participate in some awesome events and met some great people.
Saturday, I got the honor of hosting the “Do Good, Do Hair” Benefit Fashion Show, presented by Mark Pardo Salon/Spa and the Aveda Institute of New Mexico. It was a spectacular show, showcasing the artistic abilities of stylists all around down. There were 6 different themes accompanied by models with themed hair and costumes. All created by the Mark Pardo & Aveda Institute stylists.
Here is one of the models, who is so gold that it appears that shes balancing on one leg. All the themes were extremely creative, ranging from Fairies Goddesses all the way to Cleopatra in Ancient Egypt. There was a packed crowd, the models looked great, and best of all… the event raised a significant amount of money that is all going to help the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation. It was Fashion for a CAUSE!
Sunday, I went out to the Doggie Dash & Dawdle at Balloon Fiesta Park. It was like a dog theme park out there, with hundreds of dogs, all different breeds, colors, and sizes.
The Animal Human Society puts this event on every year, and it is one of the most raved about events in Albuquerque. KRQE was one of the sponsors for the event, so I got to go out and take some pictures and give out some W8T 2 TXT bands. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and hundreds if not thousands of people showed up to have fun with their furry friends.
One of the events I sadly missed this weekend was the Dia de los Muertos Marigold Parade in the South Valley on Sunday. A huge New Mexico tradition, many people look forward to the day to celebrate the lives of their passed loved ones. I hope all that attended really enjoyed themselves. Im definitely not going to miss that one again.
